Dr Mastroyiannopoulos Nikolas was born in Limassol, Cyprus in 1979. He received his PhD from the University of Bristol and he is currently a researcher in the Department of Molecular, Genetics Function & Therapy at the Cyprus Institute of Neurology and Genetics. He is also an Assistant Professor and course coordinator at the Cyprus School for Molecular Medicine for the course of Gene and Cell therapy. During his postdoctoral work he was investigating the role of RNA in muscle diseases and the molecular regulation and induction of myogenesis. He is currently focused in the use of various gene therapy tools for the therapy of Muscular Dystrophies.
