Dr. Styliana Philippou holds a BSc in Biomedical Sciences, an MSc in Medical Sciences, and a PhD in Molecular Medicine from the Cyprus Institute of Neurology & Genetics. She completed four years of post-doctoral training at the Department of Molecular Genetics, Function and Therapy of the same institute, with a research focus on the development of cell-specific aptamers for RNAi-based therapeutic delivery in Duchenne muscular dystrophy. From November 2022 to October 2025, she served as a Scientist in the Research and Development department of Medicover Genetics, contributing to prenatal testing product development. She currently holds the position of Senior Scientist in R&D at Cell Free Genomics, a biotechnology start-up specializing in genomic applications in fetal–maternal medicine. Dr. Philippou has been a member of the Cyprus Society of Human Genetics since 2014.
