Dr Kyriaki Michailidou

Dr. Michailidou is a statistical genetic epidemiologist and lead of the Biostatistics Unit at the Cyprus Institute of Neurology and Genetics (CING). She obtained her PhD from the University of Cambridge with a focus on Genome-wide Association studies in Breast cancer. Her research focuses on the analyses of common and rare variation from association studies, fine mapping of loci identified through genetic association studies and classification of Variants of Uncertain clinical Significance (VUS) in disease associated genes. She is an active member of several international consortia interested in the genetic determinants of breast and other cancers such as the Breast Cancer Association Consortium (BCAC) and the  Evidence-based Network for the Interpretation of Germline Mutant Alleles (ENIGMA) consortium. She has a large number of publications in high impact journals and she is a member of the Cyprus Society of Human Genetics since 2015.
