Dr. Styliana Philippou holds a BSc in Biomedical Sciences, an MSc in Medical Sciences and a PhD degree in Molecular Medicine from the Cyprus Institute of Neurology and Genetics. She served as a post-doctoral fellow for four years at the Department of Molecular Genetics, Function and Therapy of the Cyprus Institute of Neurology and Genetics. During this time, her research focus was the development and characterization of in vitro and in vivo cell-specific aptamers for the delivery of RNAi-based drugs for the treatment of Duchenne muscular dystrophy (DMD). Dr. Philippou is currently a Scientist in the R&D department of Medicover Genetics, undertaking research in the development of products for prenatal testing. She has been a member of the Cyprus Society of Human Genetics since 2014.
